Health and fitness

Some mornings I walk the dogs near my home. This park is on the other side of the hill. Yesterday we were soaked as the rain started to fall and there was nowhere to shelter. Cammy hates his body to be rained on.

Today it was sunny.

We only did a small part of the trail and just looked at the exercises. Walking was enough exercise for us old things.

The track is quite steep in places. Cammy and Abby do the hurdles by walking beneath them.

I crouched under this rack, but still got wet. I guess the b-ulgy bits were sticking out.

And then, finally, we come out at the top of the hill. Port Gladstone is ahead with the grain silos and some of the town.

The power and the glory!

Day 11

Bicycle nest.
The yachties' preferred mode of land transportation.
Cammy has to be hurried past this nest as his most ardent wish is to pee on every tyre.

Days 9 and 10

I was not well - nothing particular and everything in general. Much better now. Jax must have sent her bad unwellness down through cyberspace.

The vines have long stems and most can float to the top during high tide. The salt water does not affect them.

We took the dogs for a walk at Spinnaker Park and they had a lovely swim. The tide was high. I have never seen the level quite as high. The little rocky beach was almost completely underwater.

This is Abby. She is big on Attitude. Here she is sitting on the floor, front seat, passenger side. First in line for air con on hot days!

This little pale lavender flower blooms on a succulent vine that traverses the rocky shore.

Day 8 - a wet one

This clay fairy obviously doesn't mind the rain!

Day 8 - a wet one

It rained for most of yesterday and nearly all night long. The brown grass is already turning green. The temperature has cooled to a comfortable warmth with enough humidity to keep the skin from drying.
I downloaded and installed an update for Windows Explorer yesterday. The look is quite different. However, it is very troublesome and will not upload my images. Will try again later.

Day 7 - Tacky

This parrot has a battery operated voice. He shouts four letter insults when a sudden movement is made. Fortunately, there is an 'off' switch.

A cookie jar and a cat in a bag marked "potatoes". It meows. There is also a voice that shouts "where's the cat?". LOL.

Today is the day the Back Deckers meet. We met at Viv's house. We are a small group of ladies who share the common interest of patchwork, but a couple of us prefer embroidery. We meet at different homes every Thursday morning, but it all started on my back deck, hence the name.

Here is a stitched picture of my back deck.

Day 6

Some participants of Jax's challenge seem to produce the most beautiful macros, so I went on a hunt for suitable subjects. I found that a few really large bushes produced the most beautiful tiny flowers that I have never noticed.

I thought these little candle-like blossoms were unique.

The fruit on this palm will eventually turn a beautiful shade of red. In the meantime I captured the bunch of nuts as one had a little face that reminded me of a character in the Popeye comic strips.

Isn't it wonderful how nature invented the colour wheel?

This vine is one of my favourites. It is called Mexican Creeper here. I guess it originally came from central America. The bees love it.
